While these are good news in general for India, the majority of the US Companies' IT and other investments in that country are focused on the benefits of lower salaries. One example is Levi's, mentioned in the report, which has factories in India only because they can pay extremely low hourly rates.
According to a report by the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, a new study reveals a significant amount of growth between businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area and India. Though there is a lot of success and promise to go with that, there is also some challenges ahead.
