It's always interesting to read US-based websites reviewing trends around an industry or subject, and leaving out some of the most revolutionary players, just because they are not from the US. In the case of online music, this article, otherwise good, leaves out Spotify, a service that doesn't seem to be launching in the US anytime soon, making many people feel frustrated...

When you think of music at the end of 2009 you think of iTunes, Pandora and last.fm - MySpace even. The record industry is still coming to terms with these and other changes.

The custom software in this work draws musical patterns in the form of translucent arches, allowing viewers to see--literally--the shape of any composition available on the Web.
